Runnymede-Spelthorne Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA)
Runnymede and Spelthorne Borough Councils commissioned consultants GL Hearn in 2014 to undertake a Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) on their behalf. The purpose of the SHMA is to seek to forecast the level, and type, of housing need across both Local Authority areas over the next 20 years.
The SHMA is required by national planning policy in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and guidance in the Planning Practice Guidance (PPG). The SHMA will influence the Local Plan work being carried out by both Councils.
